TRAP Tank
Maybe the best innovation ever by Klein Products, this new tank design in a trapezoid shape dramatically improved the operating safety of mobile water trucks. The shape, design and internal structure of the tank reduced the center of gravity, perfected weight distribution and improved visibility. These features provide end users with the ultimate in a safe operating water distributor. U.S. patented.
The Hurricane Pump®
As the years rolled by, prime mover trucks and tractors kept getting larger with more capacity by design. Naturally, our tankers also got bigger to accommodate the larger prime movers. The larger machines, with increased capacity, were great, but they took too long to recover, which became an efficiency challenge for contractors. In the mid 1960s, Klein Products solved this problem by introducing the Hurricane Pump, a high-volume, portable, completely self-contained water distributor filling water pump. With a high-volume filling capacity of as much as 5,000 gallons per minute, the Hurricane Pump dramatically improved the productivity of high-volume water distributors. By keeping these machines on the job watering, NOT waiting for water recovery.

SMARTSPRAY®
This unique, innovative hydraulic water pump circuit enables full and complete independent control of water pump functionality from a truck or other prime mover engine. It provides safety, efficiency and added functionality all at an affordable price.
SOFTSHIFT™
This hydraulic water pump circuit removes any chance of damaging spike loads on water pumps when shifted on or off. It also provides consistent optimum water pump speed regardless of engine power, RPM or speed.
SMARTCONTROL®
Using the latest digital and “CAN” technology, we have innovated an operator interface that is touch pad or hard key controlled, safe to operate, ergonomic, and very easy to install and troubleshoot.
Fan Spray Discharge
Klein Products introduced the first mass-produced, fully adjustable without tools, fan-type spray head. Today, the fan-type spray head is the industry standard.
Combo Spray Discharge
The Klein combination end of line spray head valve combination is an innovation that makes discharging water from water trucks for dust control and compaction, adjustable, effective, efficient, and simple to function. Either air operated or hydraulic operated from remote control cab location. Volume, pressure, width of discharge pattern, and direction of discharge is simple and easy. Breakaway safety feature is integral to design, protecting combo unit in the event of impact. Designed and constructed from heavy wall, strong aluminum alloy. Easily rebuildable simply by removing the cover and dropping in a new diaphragm disc unit. This combination spray head valve unit is the standard to which others imitate. Specified as standard equipment on all Klein water tank system units, and available individually for a component part sale.
Side Jet Spray Discharge
Klein Products developed a unique spray head nozzle designed to be installed on the sides of water distributing vehicles. This side jet spray delivered the perfect combination of water pressure and water volume. Its productive spray pattern is great for watering slopes, banks and stock piles. Because of its unique configuration and performance, our side jet spray nozzle was patented and today remains one of our most popular discharge spray heads.
Porto-Tower®
The Klein Porto-Tower revolutionized dirt contracting. This mobile, self-contained, quick-discharge water tower system changed the way contractors did their jobs forever, and in the process, has saved owners millions of dollars. Today, the Porto-Tower is the industry standard and the best product in its class.

Tractor Scraper Conversion Tanker
We pioneered the conversion of a tractor scraper to a tractor tanker (commonly known today as a “water pull”). The concept of converting any brand of tractor scraper to a water tanker by utilizing the existing prime mover power unit and rear end and replacing the scraper bowl with a tanker was a Klein Products first! Today, our tractor scraper conversion tankers remain a very popular water distribution machine.

Close-Coupled Water Pumps
Klein Products was the first to use a close-coupled, hydraulic-driven water pump on water distributors. We introduced our first close-coupled water pump back in the 1970s. The Klein Products close-coupled water pump has been field tested and proven all over the world and is considered by many to be the superior product available. Today, only water distributors using close-coupled water pumps are considered to be high-quality, cutting-edge systems.
Diaphragm Actuated Globe Valve
Klein Products was the first to use a diaphragm actuated globe valve as a means to control water flow on a mobile water distributor tank system. We pioneered its use on our equipment, and today, the diaphragm actuated globe valve is by far the most commonly used valve on water distributors. We manufacture a full line of these valves and ship them to water equipment users all over the world.
HDQ Mounting System
The longevity of any mobile tank system depends on how the equipment is mounted to the prime mover truck or tractor. Klein has perfected this process through years of experience and development. Using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) engineering software, our mounts are analyzed and optimized for strength in their specific applications. Our tank systems ensure perfect weight distribution, the lowest possible center of gravity, and secure connections to truck frames with strong, flexible mounts that allow necessary movement. Klein's SOFTRIDE rubber body cushions, made of 80 duro rubber vulcanized to carbon steel and welded to the tank subframe, provide a soft landing on the truck frame and a cushioned ride. This innovation enhances tank longevity and offers maximum security.
Turret Monitors
The K-PRO is a Klein proprietary remote control turret monitor. It is heavy duty in design, 3” flanged inlet and water way, 2.5 discharge. Compact design, easy to operate. Actuation is electric over air operated or electric over hydraulic operated. 90 + degrees horizontal actuation. The bigger water way and heavy-duty design makes this turret the overall best choice for ALL Klein off highway applications where we are using a KP4H510 or larger pump. Can also be used with Klein KP3 series pumps when application dictates use of same. Nozzles are optional. Straight stream or adjustable fog to straight stream manual or adjustable fog to straight stream remote are all available. The K-PRO is the default remote control turret option for all off highway tank systems and is available as an optional turret on all other systems.
Payload Balancing System
Off-road mining trucks continue to get bigger and bigger in size and capacity. Our water tank distributor systems continue to get bigger in size and capacity to keep pace with the truck prime mover chassis’ payload capacity. As the payload gets bigger, the “safe” center of gravity and weight/load distribution of our tank systems becomes more challenging. To facilitate the absolute lowest center of gravity and safest weight/load distribution, Klein Products designed the payload balancing system for large-capacity off-highway truck tank systems. This breakthrough design enables the tank system to unload rear and front compartments separately as required in severe terrain, ensuring maximum safety, the lowest center of gravity and the best weight/load distribution.
Coatings, Paints and Treatments
Our equipment works in demanding, harsh environments. Hot, cold dusty, dirty, and many times corrosive. Providing effective coatings and treatments are essential to reliable machinery and in protecting your investment. Klein, along with chemists and supply chain partners, has developed environmentally friendly and safe coatings that are tough, reliable and easy on the earth. Klein was first to utilize 100% solid elastomeric polyurethane as a protective lining inside mobile tank equipment.

The New Look
In the early years, from the 1950s to early 1960s, water distributor tank systems were either round or rectangular. Klein Products was the first to introduce a tank shape that was a modified elliptical shape. This new look provided more gallons per inch than a round tank and proved to be a much stronger tank than a square or rectangle shape. Today, the dual radius, modified elliptical shape is the industry standard.
