2023 Spirit Week!

During the last week of August, Klein Products kicked off its inaugural “Spirit Week.” Each day we gathered to give off good spirit by participating in different themes, enjoying lunch together, and promoting teamwork through fun activities. Klein employees also listened to wonderful history lessons, going through the decades of our business and how we got to where we are today – the leading manufacturer of mobile liquid distributing equipment. Executing this for the deserving team, who all had a blast, will make next year hard to top!

The first day’s theme was “Aloha Day.” We enjoyed a BBQ lunch followed by a very competitive scavenger hunt. Nannette Contreras took the day’s top prize. Barry McManus even dressed up in all the “aloha” gear as he shared Klein’s history during the 50’s!

We rolled into day 2 with the team sporting custom bandanas printed with our special Spirit Week logo. We made our own açaí bowls and partook in a game of “guess how many bits and bolt are in that container”. Bobby Young was the big winner (and, in case you’re wondering, there were 397 items in the container!) The team also took a trip down memory lane as we learned about the “Klein Way” in the 60’s.

Spirit Week day 3 was “Sports Day.” We saw lots of different team gear from all areas of the sports world, took a trip through 70’s history, and chowed down on a delicious tri-tip lunch – thanks to Nico Mortensen’s amazing grill master skills – and stacked some pennies in a “minute-to-win-it” game. It was a close competition, but ultimately Ann Ellis walked away the winner.

Klein was invaded by an old lady gang on the fourth day of Spirit Week! It was costume day, where we noticed a lot of creativity. We enjoyed morning donuts from a famous local spot. The game of “putt for dough” brought out fierceness among the team, as they tried to score a hole-in-one down an extended putting green. Unfortunately, nobody was able to make the hole-in-one – this time – but there will be plenty of opportunities to try again as we roll out this ongoing competition.

It was sad to see Spirit Week come to a close, but it was an awesome time while it lasted. The grand finale was a delightful catered lunch as Barry brought us up to the present on Klein’s history, then in celebration of Labor Day, Barry gifted everyone with an amazing grill pack full of steaks and burgers. The team’s enthusiasm throughout the week was off the charts. Now, with the first three quarters of 2023 in the rearview mirror, we are all fired up to close the year strong and start 2024 with the gas pedal down!
